Detailed Outline

Due Wednesday, May 14^th

40 Points

Follow the format below to create a detailed outline that you will use to write your research paper. Your paper will be approximately 5 pages. All of your points must be supported by concrete details from the sources your have collected from the library and Internet. If you make a point, you must support it!

REQUIREMENTS: READ THIS INFORMATION!!!

Points must be written in complete sentences.
Subpoints must be written in complete sentences.
Supporting evidence/concrete details must include the author’s name, short version of the title of your source, and page number.
Supporting evidence can be authors’ statements, facts, data, examples, first-hand accounts, etc., from the sources you have collected.
You must use at least 10 different sources of information.
You must have at least three main points and at least two subpoint for each main point
If you have an A, you need a B. If you have a 1, you need at 2.
Only TYPED, single spaced outlines will be accepted.

MODEL OUTLINE: FOLLOW THIS FORMAT!!!

I. Introduction: Write out to introduce the reader to the topic, catch their attention, and present your thesis statement (last sentence).

II. Point One (write out a complete sentence/sentences that describe your most significant point)

A. Subpoint 1: This point helps to explain one aspect of your main point. Write a complete sentence

1. Supporting Evidence/Concrete Detail: From your sources. Write out the facts/details/explanations you will use. Include the Author’s last name, short title of source, and page number in parentheses.

2. Supporting Evidence/Concrete Detail: same as above.

B. Subpoint 2: Same as Subpoint 1
