East Asia Destinations

You and your partners have opened a company that specializes in getting people to move to East Asia. You earn a bonus for every person who chooses your country as a destination. Your goal is to get as many people to move to your country as possible and the only way to do it is to provide information that explains to your customers all the benefits to moving to your country.

Unfortunately, you have run out of money and can’t afford to buy brochures to give to interested customers, so you and your partners have decided to create the brochure yourselves.

A. Your brochure must include:

• Name of the Country
• Capital City and any other major cities (population over 1 million)
• Total population of the country
• Map of the country that includes major cities.
• Descriptions of:
• Dominant physical features and geography
• Population centers (where are most of the people located)
• Economic activities
• Climate and weather
• Religion and language

B. Your brochure must also include an explanation as to why people would want to go to your country, including at least 2 points of interest or attractions. Remember, you are trying to get people to go to your country, so sell it to your audience!!!

C. Finally, your brochure must be aesthetically pleasing (it has to look nice!) You must include color pictures (at least 5), either hand drawn, from a magazine, or from the Internet. You must also complete all writing in pen, or you may do your rough draft and take it home and type it.

Your resources include your textbook (Chapter 30), your atlas, Culture Grams, and the Internet. You will have to do some research at home. Your grade will be based on completion of all the elements above, your in-class productivity and progress, and the overall product.

This brochure is due Friday, May 18^th.
